Yerevan
The Pink City and Armenia's vibrant capital, much of it built from the distinctive pink volcanic tuff that gives the city its name. Cafés, restaurants, museums, galleries, public squares, and a lively cultural scene make Yerevan the natural starting point for discovering Armenia. On clear days, spectacular views of Mount Ararat can be seen from different parts of the city.
Aragatsotn
The land of Mount Aragats, Armenia's highest peak, where high-altitude landscapes, alpine meadows, ancient fortresses, and monasteries come together in one remarkably varied region. In a single journey, travelers can move from early Christian monuments and medieval architecture to open mountain landscapes and the silence of the highlands.
Ararat
A fertile region stretching beneath the biblical Mount Ararat, where history, religion, agriculture, and rural landscapes come together. It is home to some of Armenia's most iconic monasteries and viewpoints, including the famous panorama of Mount Ararat from Khor Virap. The region is also known for its vineyards, orchards, and traditional agricultural culture.
Armavir
One of Armenia's most important spiritual and historic regions, home to Etchmiadzin, the principal spiritual center of the Armenian Apostolic Church. The fertile Ararat Plain here meets ancient history, early Christian heritage, rural landscapes, and some of the country's most significant cultural monuments.
Gegharkunik
The land of Lake Sevan, Armenia's “pearl,” surrounded by mountains, open skies, and expansive natural landscapes. The region is especially appealing in summer, when visitors can combine time by the water with nature, outdoor activities, and historic sites scattered around the lake.
Kotayk
A region of historic, cultural, and natural treasures just a short drive from Yerevan. Here you will find the ancient Temple of Garni, the rock-cut Geghard Monastery, and the dramatic landscapes of the Azat Gorge. Kotayk is particularly well suited to travelers who want to combine history, architecture, and nature within a single day.
Lori
A land of green gorges, forested mountains, and medieval monasteries. Lori is home to the UNESCO World Heritage monasteries of Haghpat and Sanahin, as well as some of Armenia's most striking natural landscapes. It is particularly rewarding for travelers who want to combine nature, history, and exceptional medieval architecture.
Shirak
Gyumri, Armenia's cultural capital, is known for its distinctive black-tuff architecture, vibrant arts scene, and unmistakable urban character. Beyond the city, Shirak opens into broad plains, mountain landscapes, and a rich culinary tradition — a region where history and contemporary culture meet at every turn.
Syunik
The dramatic and diverse south of Armenia — a region of deep gorges, rugged mountains, forests, and remote mountain settlements. It is home to Tatev Monastery and the Wings of Tatev cableway, which crosses the Vorotan Gorge and ranks among the world's longest reversible aerial tramways. Syunik is particularly suited to travelers looking to experience Armenia's more remote, rugged, and wild side.
Tavush
Armenia's “Switzerland” — a region of dense forests, clear mountain lakes, green valleys, and quiet monasteries woven naturally into the landscape. The forests of Dilijan, historic monasteries, and winding mountain roads make Tavush one of Armenia's finest destinations for hiking, nature, and slower-paced travel.
Vayots Dzor
A land of red-rock gorges, deep valleys, medieval monasteries, and an ancient winemaking tradition. The region is home to Areni's wine country, Noravank Monastery, and some of Armenia's most dramatic natural landscapes. Vayots Dzor is especially rewarding for travelers who want to combine wine, history, nature, and active exploration.
