Armenia, Month by Month

Armenia changes with the seasons. Each month brings its own landscapes, weather, road conditions, and travel opportunities.

Here is what to expect throughout the year — which destinations are at their best, where seasonal conditions may make travel more challenging, and how to plan your itinerary accordingly.

February

Winter is still here, but the days are getting longer. The ski season continues in Tsaghkadzor, while travel in lower-lying areas gradually becomes more comfortable. In the highlands, however, winter conditions can still persist.

Best conditions

  • ✦ Tsaghkadzor — Ski season continues.
  • ✦ Yerevan (Center) — A good time for culture, gastronomy, and city experiences without the crowds of the high season.
  • ✦ Etchmiadzin — A quieter period for visiting, with fewer tourists.

Where conditions may be more challenging

  • ✕ Haghpat / Sanahin — Snow and ice may affect road access.
  • ✕ Tatev — Winter conditions can still persist on higher roads.
  • ✕ Noravank — Roads may be muddy and slower after winter precipitation.
